How to transcribe voice memos on iPhone
Voice Memos records, but it doesn't give you a transcript you can edit, search and export. WhisperAI does, in four steps.

Save the memo to Files
In Voice Memos, tap the recording, tap the ••• button and choose Save to Files.

Upload it to WhisperAI
Open WhisperAI, tap +, choose Upload file and pick the memo.

Set it up and transcribe
Turn on speaker detection or translation if you need them, then tap Upload & Transcribe.

Read, search and export
You're notified when the transcript is ready. Summarize it, chat with it or export it as PDF, DOCX, TXT or SRT.

Is the WhisperAI iPhone app free?
The app is free to download and uses the same account and plan as the web app. The Free plan includes 5 minutes of transcription a month; Premium and Business Pro add more minutes and features.
How do I transcribe voice memos on my iPhone?
In Voice Memos, tap the recording, tap ••• and choose Save to Files. Then open WhisperAI, tap +, choose Upload file and pick the memo. You're notified when the transcript is ready.
Can I upload recordings and videos, not just record?
Yes. Record audio or video in the app, upload audio or video files up to 5 GB each, or import from your camera roll or Google Drive.
Can I see the transcript while I record?
Yes. The transcript builds live as you speak, auto-detected from 100+ languages, with live translation into the language you choose.
Does it keep recording with the screen locked?
Yes. Lock your phone, put it in your pocket or switch apps, and the recording continues in the background until you stop it.
